These were some of my initial idea sketches for some storybook-style "initial letters" I'm working on. The Sleeping Beauty story begins with an "I" and I am illustrating it with a tower. The final design is now looking very different to these, as these ones were really not that recognisable as the letter "I"!

I won the Illustration Award in Computer Arts magazine's Graduate Showcase!!!
A couple of months ago I entered my work into the Computer Arts competition for a chance to be featured in 2011's Graduate Showcase edition. I'd completely forgotten about it until yesterday when an old friend from my sixth form college messaged me on Facebook saying "Wow Amy your work is in my latest Computer Arts Magazine!!" Huh? My work? In Computer Arts? Woah..... so after getting myself a copy and being so excited to see how my illustrations look in print....
...I read that I'd actually WON the "Illustration Category Excellence Award" ...whaaat??! Here it is:

Japanese Waterfall Tattoo (Sketch)
My friend Mark requested a rough sketch of a tattoo idea he has for his back! He says the idea of a Japanese waterfall came to him in a dream! Even though I'm not entirely sure his idea will work for a tattoo, (there will be soo much detail and I imagine it will take forever to have done!) this was still fun to sketch out. If he wants me to refine the idea more I definitely won't mind working on it further. These are scans from my sketchbook.

Poodle Portraits!
My Mum suggested it might be a nice idea to surprise my Dad with a portrait of Rosie our miniature poodle, as part of his 50th Birthday gifts. I'm not sure which one I'm going to give him yet, I think my Mum can choose since it was all her idea! When its decided, I'll frame it and wrap it up. I can't wait to surprise him!

Jet Set Radio Future Love!
I finally got round to painting some drawings I did a while back…I don't draw people often so I thought I'd have a go and make sure I have some fun while I'm at it… and yup these were SO much fun to do! These are kind of my own takes on some of my favourite characters from a game that's influenced me since I was a tween. In order they are: "Beat", "Gum" and "Ryth"....."Jet Set Radio Future" is (C) Sega.

Doggie Sketchies (Poodles and Great Danes!)
Some sketching of poochies to help me get back into the swing of things. My main inspirations are my 14 year old miniature poodle Rosie and my friend Emily's 3 month old great dane pup.
